Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 2, 2026 · Published by VDTKM Labs

Dewfold is a local-first skincare management and routine planning tool. This policy explains how information is collected, stored, and used when you use the Dewfold iOS app. By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. Disclaimers, warranties, and limitation of liability are set out in the Terms of Use, available separately.

1A. Information you enter or generate on device

The App stores information you provide or that is derived for you, including: skincare product details (name, brand, category, ingredients, instructions, notes); routine schedules and step completion; skin profile fields; skin event logs (e.g. dryness, irritation, breakouts); skin analysis scores and related metadata; optional notes; and backup files you export.

1B. Optional weather and location

If you turn on "Adapt to local weather," the App asks iOS for permission and then uses Core Location to obtain an approximate (reduced-accuracy) location fix while you use the App, and queries Apple’s WeatherKit for current conditions and a 7-day outlook (humidity, temperature, UV index) to build a per-day climate signal (dry / normal / humid, cold, high UV) for routine generation. The outlook is cached on device for up to 7 days. Location and weather are optional and can be disabled in the App (Settings) and in iOS Settings. Apple’s services are subject to Apple’s own terms and privacy policies.

1C. Imports and sharing

When you choose to import or share into the App, it may process: text or URLs shared via the Share extension; JSON from the clipboard or AI-assisted workflows; and custom URL payloads that hand off shared text into the main App. Large share payloads may be written temporarily to the App Group container so the main App can read them — still on your device, not sent to a developer-operated server by the App.

1D. Destination weather lookups

When you type a vacation or travel destination, the App sends that place name to Apple’s map (geocoding) and weather services (MapKit and WeatherKit) to find the place and fetch its forecast, so your routine can be adjusted for the trip. This does not use your device location. Only the place name you typed is sent. Apple’s services are subject to Apple’s own terms and privacy policies.

1E. Korean ingredient dictionary

To translate Korean ingredient names found in products you add or import, the App checks a small version file hosted on a Cloudflare Worker operated by the developer on launch and, if it has changed, downloads an updated ingredient-name dictionary. The request carries no personal data, no account, and no device or install identifier — only a fixed request for the current dictionary file. Like any internet request, it exposes your IP address to Cloudflare, which hosts the Worker and may log it as part of operating its network under Cloudflare’s own privacy policy; the developer does not use IP addresses to identify you or link them to anything in the App. A baseline copy of the dictionary ships with the App so lookups work even before any download completes.

1F. On-device features: clinic-report PDF import and Ask Dewfold

If you import a clinic or skin-analysis report as a PDF, the App reads it entirely on your device using Apple’s Vision and PDFKit frameworks. The PDF and the text extracted from it are never uploaded to the developer or to any third party. Ask Dewfold uses Apple Intelligence, Apple’s on-device language model, to answer questions about your routine and cabinet. It runs on your device, and your questions, answers, and cabinet data stay on the device — they are not sent to the developer, to Anthropic, or to any other AI provider. Availability depends on your device and iOS settings.

1G. Diagnostics

The App does not bundle third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in its source tree. Apple may collect limited diagnostic information (such as crash reports) if you allow that in your device settings; that flows through Apple’s systems, not through a separate analytics account operated by the developer for this App.

2. How information is stored

Routine data, products, profiles, events, and analyses are stored on your device using Apple’s SwiftData. Preferences such as day-start hour, routine length, cabinet mode, and weather-related settings may also be stored using Apple’s User Defaults / App Storage APIs. The iOS Keychain holds three small values used for the free trial and unlock: the date your 45-day free trial started, the last date the App saw, and a flag recording whether you have purchased the unlock. These values contain no personal information. Because Keychain items survive deleting and reinstalling the App, the trial start date does too, and if iCloud Keychain is enabled on your Apple ID, Apple may sync these values to your own other devices; a copy of the trial start date is also kept in the App’s settings. This App does not implement its own user accounts or a developer-hosted cloud database for your cabinet or routines, and it does not use iCloud (CloudKit) to sync its database of products, routines, profiles, events, or analyses between devices; the only item that can sync is the Keychain data described above, and that sync is performed by Apple under your iCloud settings. Apple’s standard device backup (for example iCloud Backup or encrypted computer backup) may include the App’s on-device container as part of backing up the whole device — controlled by your iOS and Apple ID settings, not by a separate "sync" feature inside the App. We do not guarantee that data, backups, imports, or device backups will never be lost, corrupted, duplicated, delayed, or inaccessible. You can use Export backup in Settings to create a file you control.

3. How information is used

Information is used only to provide App functionality: organizing products; generating and updating weekly routines using rule-based logic; tracking completion; applying optional weather and optional clinic-analysis signals; processing imports you initiate; restoring backups you choose; managing the free trial and unlock; and maintaining stability. The App does not perform medical evaluation, diagnosis, or treatment. Suggestions are informational only.

3A. Free trial and purchase

Dewfold includes a 45-day free trial, after which a one-time unlock purchase is needed to keep editing. The purchase is made through the App Store and verified on your device using Apple’s StoreKit. Apple handles the payment; the developer does not receive your payment card, Apple ID, or other payment details, and no developer server is involved in checking your purchase.

4. Health and medical disclaimer

Dewfold is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. It does not provide medical advice. Consult a qualified professional for health decisions, actives, combinations, and medical skin conditions.

5. Skin reactions and your responsibility

Skincare products can cause irritation, allergy, or other adverse effects. The App cannot guarantee safety, compatibility, or accuracy of recommendations, ingredient parsing, or weather-based adjustments. You use the App at your own risk. See the Terms of Use for additional detail.

6. Third-party and Apple services

The App relies on Apple frameworks and services, which may include SwiftData, Core Location, WeatherKit, MapKit, StoreKit, Vision, PDFKit, Apple Intelligence, Keychain and iCloud Keychain, App Extensions, and system file pickers. Use of those services is also governed by Apple’s applicable terms and privacy policies. The developer does not control Apple’s infrastructure. The only developer-operated service the App contacts is a Cloudflare Worker that serves the Korean ingredient dictionary, as described in Section 1E. The App does not send your data to any AI provider.

7. Security

No method of storage or software is perfectly secure. You are responsible for physical access to your device and any backup files you export or store elsewhere.

8. Children’s privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law. Younger users should use the App only with a parent or guardian as appropriate.

9. International use

You are responsible for compliance with local laws where you use the App.

10. Changes to this policy

This Policy may be updated from time to time. Continued use after updates are posted constitutes acceptance unless applicable law requires otherwise.
